Peter Ikeda Poem

Breezes soothe my soul
And I become empowered with greatness.
Singing praises for my maker as long as the earth turns,
Longing to hear from Him who is the Creator.
I am Peter, and this is my song.

Hey there! As stated in the poem my name is Peter. I just switched into this class on Friday morning so I missed the introduction class and assignment which is why I'm just now adding this post. Anyways to try and tie the assignment into something we talked about today in class I had a friend write this poem about me and I had to then analyze and perfect it. I tried to formulate the idea of the poet being the "mythmaker" and put myself in the position of trying to find the poet's third eye and understand the entirety of the poem. Anyways as it stated I LOVE the wind. I find that whenever I am experiencing a very spiritual moment God comes to me in the form of a breeze or wind of some sort. It's really cool actually! So for me finding spirituality and sacredness in the wilderness is really interesting and I can relate completely. I also love to sing and I find it's a great way of expressing myself. As for the "third eye" of the poet her name is Ashleigh and is a great friend of mine here at CNU. Her poem describes not only things about me but also things that she has observed of me. In relation to the wind reference, my personality is very much that of the wind: free-spirited, refreshing (sometimes), something not everyone necessarily understands but is always affected by it. I am a singer and a Christian which is where the singing praises comes in because I am dedicated to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Just a few observations about me and my own comments thus far. I'm very excited to explore the nature of sacred wilderness and to learn more about it!
