Kayla Delaguila- Image and Pilgrimage and The Journey Symbol

In Image and Pilgrimage in Christian Culture, the author brings up the term Liminal. This can be defined as not only transition but also the state and process of mid-transition in a rite of passage of some form. The person is ambiguous; they are not whom they were or who they are going to be. In The Journey Symbol, it is discussed that while in the state of liminality a person has the greatest potential for change to an individual's internal world and reaction to external world. This makes a state of liminality or really the journey on a trail, a perfect chance to change. My question about this is, do you realize when you're in a state of liminality? Do you wake up one morning and say, "I am so Liminal today,” this seems unlikely... But I feel like I would know if I am not who I was, thusly realizing that I am not who I will be in the end. But on that note, it could be argued that you are in a liminal state every day. I am not who I was yesterday, and I am not who I will be tomorrow. That is beside the point though. Do you know if you're liminal? I'm going to go with no, but I have never been liminal (to my knowledge) so I guess I will just have to figure it out one day.
