The Axioms (I mean who's not gonna write about them!?)-Josh Osteen
Of course we all know about the axioms. Everyone has written about them on here and we have had them on all our tests and most of the papers we have written have used them somehow. These are almost the basic knowledge requirements for this class. If anyone learned anything, they should have learned about these axioms. After learning about these "rules" for landscape and sacred geography, there are lots of thoughts that go through my head. Living in the mountains I never looked at the ordinary the same after learning about these things. The axiom of a sacred place is ordinary made extraordinary is my favorite. Seeing places as I go anywhere make me instantly connect to another realm if you will. It also brings up the axiom about you can tred on sacred space without actually entering it. I almost get mad when i'm out in the wilderness and I don't experience anything spiritual. I always am trying to learn something. It is an amazing feeling to be connected completely with these extraordinary places that the axioms talk about. I wonder if there is anybody out there who hasn't experienced something spiritual? Sometimes the spiritual experience can be life changing and that is something that I wish everyone could have a chance to experience. Also I have pondered the question of is it possible to not experience anything if a person is not in the right mind? This is a question I know has been looked at by many people, but the real general question is the long-term version of the question. If a person is never receptive to these simple landscapes during their lives, what is the possibility that they cannot ever be experiencing sacred landscape?
