In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~John Muir
Though seemingly simple, the quote describes the mystery of our special relationship with nature. In most every interaction in life, we expect something. However, with nature, we tred upon it usually free of the intent to enter it; this step occurs independently, as nature has the ability to affect you in ways never thought possible. Sometimes, I just go on a walk to blow off steam, wanting to relieve some frustration. But, when I return from my time in nature, I feel like a more holistic person, free of stress and completely empowered. We continue to return to nature because of this one-of-a-kind relationship we have with it, free of constraint and expectations.
