Basketball is my ultimate escape. I can focus everything into the here and now and make sure that nothing other than what is current is real to me. This state of flow is an “escape” to me because it subtracts the distractions, obligations, norms, and routines of my life and factors in only the simple object of using skills and decision making to be victorious.
