This was my first time on the Nolan Trail and I went back a couple days later with one of the nice cameras from the media center. Trying to capture the beauty of the place is so hard. Photo after photo I would feel like I was missing a huge component of the actual atmosphere. By not being able to put the smells and sounds into a photo you miss part of what makes the place so great. Hearing the wind rustling through the trees and and smelling the strong smell of crisp fall air makes the area that much more powerful.
I took my friends when I went with the camera trying to show them the greatness of the place this time of the year. Photographing them in this natural setting enhanced so many of their features. the sun shining through the colorful trees painted the perfect background for them. Nature I feel is taken for granted on many of occasion like a painting could be extremely accurate but its not the real thing. It doesn't give you the feeling that completely surrounds the actual place. The birds flying, squirrels climbing, bugs humming and turtles swimming. You do not get the falling leaves around you as you look into a picture you only get the image the artisit was able to capture.
I think the nolan trail is something very sacred and our nature walk showed that to me.
