Natural Setting #1 - Rachel Carter

My mom often reminds us that she and her family would take Sunday drives as their only weekend outing in a car. Needless to say, it was an exciting time for all. Society has certainly changed since she was a child. Now it’s as though the situation has reversed. Instead of rarity of car rides, there is scarcity of outdoor hikes. I truly have to a concerted effort to allot time to nature. In a tech-heavy existence, I believe most Americans have lost the true meaning to life. Luckily, nature provides an outlet for us to become more centered. My hike on the Noland enabled me to reflect as to why God placed me on this Earth. Sometimes it is extremely important to rid yourself of the negativity of the news and the fakeness of Facebook, and appreciate the outside beauty given to us. If only we could have more of those revelations!
