Ashley Pepper - Natural Setting (2)

If you are from Stafford, or Fredericksburg Virginia then you are well aware of the waterfalls at Abel Lake (as well as the illegal cliff jumping). My boyfriend, Kyle Ponce, took me to these waterfalls the night our first date almost three years ago and it is the place that we hold most sacred to our relationship. Whenever we want to get out of the house or clear our minds, we go down the lake and sit there for hours. We went back over Thanksgiving Break and it was just breathtaking with the changes in the leaves’ colors and because it was so cold ice was beginning to form around the bottom of the waterfall. Although, young and mischievous children have left beer cans and have spray painted on the rocks, the place still remains indescribably beautiful. I don’t have to be with Kyle to venture out to this sacred landscape, it is a place I feel free to go to whenever I need to ‘get away’ from it all. Oh, and the cliff jumping in the summertime is great fun. Still have yet to jump off the tallest one, around 40ft; it’s my goal for next year.
