Austin Davis Mask
The ordinary as mask of the holy. A potentially literal interpretation of a mask of the holy would be my drive up the blue ridge parkway the other day with the tops of the mountains covered in a layer of fog or cloud. As my friend and I approached the mountains they appeared mysterious once on the parkway our travel was slowed greatly though it was a drive that I have been very familiar with for years now. A literal interpretation of the mask of the holy was after we cleared a section of switchbacks and came to a stop at the first straight, where we were greeted by a mother black bear and her cub casually crossing the parkway. The fog gave me a sense of tunnel vision along with a sort of moment with the power of the mountain which I have never experienced before even after the bear finally cleared the road way my friend and I were still stunned by the power of the mountain range.
