Fear of Religion Class -Amber Matkowski
When I was signing up for ULLC I honestly didn't even look at what each class was about, instead I was more concerned about what time I was taking. When I realized that it was "Wilderness as a Sacred Landscape", I was worried. I have never been a very religious person, and I worried that I wouldn't be able to connect to the class, especially when I heard the textbook was "Image and Pilgramage in Christian Culture." I have learned throughout this semester however, that "sacredness", and "the holy" can be whatever you think it is, not always what a specific religion defines it as. I truly believe that the wilderness is a powerful place that can give a person an extraordinary experience.
