Group Hike- Samantha Anderson
Most people first off don’t want hike by themselves. There are a number of fears according to an article in the Journal of Leisure Research. Some of the greatest fears of solo hikers are getting hurt by a stranger, injury, and theft of belongings. That is why they advise that you always hike with at least two people. That way if you are injured one can go get help while the other stays with the person hurt. I know that I would not want to hike by myself. I would not want to be with people all along the trail, but I would want to know that there was someone ahead or behind me to account for me and vice versa. So when you go hiking find a buddy or hook up with someone when you get on the trail so these fears can be left behind.
