James Joseph: Outside Source (1)

John 3:16 from the Bible states "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, so that whoever shall believe in him, shall not perish but have eternal life". This is probably the most well known Bible verse today, yet is usually overlooked for how much it really means. Imagine a hollywood movie, where someone offers up their son's life for the betterment of a group, and the one sacrificed and the one offering them as a sacrifice are both remembered as heroes of sort. So we can clearly see how that portion of the verse really speaks out to us. Yet, it only starts there. A gift of eternal life is not just some $20 gift card your aunt gives you for your birthday, rather it's such a higher call of love. So now the movie has changed, to something involving that same scenario of sacrifice, but also saving all the people around and offering them such a gift of eternal life. Now isn't that more than what the verse first reads?
