Will Geiger-Outside Reading

"No Impact man" by Colin Beaven is the account of Beavens experiment to reduce his carbon footprint as much as he possibly could with the aim at reconfiguring his life to be both practical and environmentally friendly. Beaven focused on the domestic and economic aspects of the endeavor. I think it would have benefitted Beaven to a great degree if he had included something about the significance of interaction with the outdoors and the effect it can have on peoples lives. I understand that his goal was to create an argument for the practical and (somewhat) convenient implementation of a more eco-friendly lifestyle, but there is a significant correlation between appreciation for the outdoors and appreciation for preservation of the outdoors via a "green" lifestyle.
