Geneva Polser -Image and Pilgrimage 3

Ritual symbol is the smallest part of a ritual. This aspect made me think of all of the activities we do during a day that seem little, but if not done, can lose meaning for our entire day. For example, most people brush their teeth in the morning. If one forgets, then they feel embarrassed about forgetting and are self-conscious of their breath. Another example can be wearing deodorant. If one forgets to put it on in the morning, they are aware of their bodily functions, and try to avoid situations that would cause them to sweat. Also, if they find themselves starting to have body odor, they become self conscious and try to avoid people. Brushing teeth and applying deodorant are examples of ritual symbols and how we use them in every day life.
