There are 3 types of communitas; 1. Spontaneous, 2. Normative, and 3. Ideological. regardless, I find it most interesting that there is always a drive to create a community in society, especially when there is a lack of one. When hiking the AT the typical community that we share with the world, is basically thrown into the woods, and a new one is created. It is ingrained in the human genome to have some sort of order in life at all times. We are social creatures and therefore the invention of community is inevitable.
