Image and Pilgrimage #3 -Kristen Gladfelter

Reading the definition of liminality, or the state of being betwixt and between, got me wondering how this idea is related to nature or the wilderness. My main thought behind this was the fact that your are stripped of you social status and alone. There is no more social barrier to define yourself as and you are simply human, not knowing where you belong anymore. Eventually a makeshift community is created, but until then, you are stuck in the middle.
