Jacqueline Thornley: Topic Relating to Class

Do you ever wonder what objects have seen? This may sound somewhat strange but I think about it all the time. For instance, the other day we passed around a rock from a mountain on the other side of the country. I thought it was so cool and such a good representation of life (corny I know). I mean, that rock was just stuck there for who knows how long and then some professor from Virginia stops by, picks it up, and brings it across the country to show his class. I feel like we’re all like the rock. No one ever knows what’s going to happen to them or who they’re going to impact. That little rock influenced all our lives, whether we realize it or not because passing around that rock will always be a memory we all share. It actually makes me hopeful for the future (again corny I know) because I figure if one little rock can end up making a memory for an entire room full of people, then what can I do? Who will I end up impacting? I mean if a little rock can make it across the country, then the skies the limit for us right?
