jeff sellazzo- ontological approach in Into The Wild
In the book Into the Wild the main character Chris Mcandless leaves society behind and immerses himself in the wilderness. One reason he does this is to get closer to the supernatural forces that are present in the uninhabited wilderness. He could not do this in normal society because the supernatural power of nature is repressed by the concrete and cars of society. He views the wilderness as sacred because of the presence of these supernatural forces in nature. His view of nature as being sacred due to the convergence of these supernatural forces with nature supports Lane’s ontological approach to sacred place
