The Lion's Bridge Take Two-Evan Shively

Upon getting back from break I felt myself needing a chance to meditate and reflect. Monday turned out to be a great day weather wise so I drove to the Lion's Bridge. I walked by the nice houses on the shore for about an hour before finally returning to the bridge to begin my meditation. I sat facing the water hidden by the bridge and sat motionless. I studied the environment around me, as I did a family showed up to take pictures and I let my mind wonder on the idea of the family as well as how photography uses the environment. For around an hour letting my mind concentrate on the shore ahead of me. As my meditation ended I felt so uplifted from my surroundings I wanted to hug the next person I saw, I felt so comfortable with myself and my place in life. Afterwords I left to go shopping and buy groceries for the week. Dealing with the traffic around me and the people at Target constantly getting in my way, my good feelings quickly faded. Around society I just don't get the same energy I get when out of the wilderness. It is unfortunate how most of my time is spent in this society which I lack any connection to.
