Drama. It’s everywhere. No, I don’t mean theatre. Things are happening in my sophomore year of college that are truly blowing my mind. Girls and boys, boys and girls, girls and girls, and almost any other combination you can think of. Drama creates three things: hate, sadness, and gossip. Now, I love gossip as much as the next person, but there comes a point where it’s a little too much. Lately I have been trying to avoid involvement in the conversations, almost treating it as a television show. If any of the actors try to break the fourth wall, I just mumble an indifferent response and continue on my business. However, I can find a positive in gossip, especially if a “wronged” party is contributing. I believe that talking about problems, even if its just saying them out loud is one of the best forms of therapy. Having a good listener is almost better than having someone to offer advice when it comes to working out personal matters. I love being a listener, just to observe the human dynamic of fixing a problem in his or her own minds. If I disagree, I do my best to wait until the end because the process of problem solving is so interesting. Everyone should give it a try.
