The day that we all had to meet Dr. Redick out at the Lion's Bridge a few of my close friends in class and I stayed after the class was over and got to hike a little of the Nolan Trail with Dr. Redick. Needless to say we had a lot of fun. We even had a "who can jump across the bridge" contest. Roland Chandler, a student in the class, hiked his way down off the trail and onto a large tree limb that had fallen into the water, and he made it all the way! Yes, pictures were taken.
My mother is not a wilderness person to say the least and so I was always around someone who would not want to be outdoors and camping. It was so nice to be able to go out and enjoy the "wilderness" with my classmates and professor. It's also nice to see your professor in a new light; one that is not so formal and more laid back. Dr. Redick fills students, such as myself, with inspiration of the outdoors and makes it a fun, learning environment.
