Personal Opinion on Trail Magic - Kevin Covucci

In an earlier post I discussed the topic of trail magic and how the presence of it can negatively impact peoples personal experiences on the trail. I am all for trail magic and think the positives heavily outweigh the negatives, however I do not ever think it is right for someone to impose themselves on another person's wilderness trail experience. I feel that a huge part of the reason people take on long spiritual journeys is so they can get away from outside influences not so they can be effected from other peoples actions. However, on the other hand I feel like trail magic is a huge part of peoples trail experiences and are something that all people should have the chance to experience at one point or another during their hiking experience. So in conclusion I really feel that trail magic is great when people put thought into the time and place they do it so to ensure they do not effect other peoples trail experiences.
