The day that we took the class trip down the Lion's Bridge was definitely a fun day for me and my other friends in the class. I learned more that day about plants and berries and trees than I ever thought I would come to know in a lifetime. Dr. Redick let us smell and even taste different things out in the wilderness and some were pleasing to my senses and others...not so much. It was interesting to learn about the difference in tree bark and that there were multiple different types of Pine Trees. I thought a Pine Tree was just a Pine Tree, but boy was I wrong. What my roommates and I found to be exceptionally pleasing were the berries that you could smush and use as a form of paint. That was cool! And being the crazy people that we are, we applied it as war paint. It was remarkable that the wilderness could produce something like that. Here is a photo of my excitement.
