In the second chapter of Lane's book, we learned about the difference between topos and chora. Topos is the a regular locate that has no significance importance, on the other hand, chora is a place where the individual makes a connection and has a energizing force behind. Lane goes on to explain that everyone has both of these kinds of places in their everyday lives. An example of a topos location, would be a gas station or a fast food restaurant. A person sees thousands of them throughout his or her lifetime, and they have no significant importance to that person's life. A topos place can become a chora place, if that person has a some kind of connection at that place during their lifetime. An example of a chora place would be a mountain top that they ascended during their lifetime or the house that they have lived. Some of these things do not happen everyday, but some do and they can serve as an importance to the person's life. I am glad that I have both topos and chora locations in my life, they help me remember important things in my life.
