On my experience in the Noland trail saw a leaf fall from a tree and land in a calm alcove of Lake Maury. After seeing this I got to thinking how that leaf hitting the lake’s surface was like life. The leaf symbolized a disturbance in life that makes you act in a way that varies from normal life behavior. An event like that could be an important exam coming up. Instead of studying like normal you are studying a lot and more stress is put on you. The leaf symbolizes the leaf, the thing that causes the reaction, and the ripples emanating from the leaf symbolize the different behavior. But eventually the test passes and you revert back to the normal behavior that you usually do. Like the example eventually the ripples dissipate and the surface of the lake becomes smooth again. Until another disturbance comes along.
