Why would someone journey thousands of miles to one particular spot; using lots of time, spending lots of money and putting extreme pressure on the body--In the name of a pilgrimage! What do they get out of the journey? According to Turner all pilgrims have three things in common. They are places that are believed to have had miracles happen, miracles still happen, and miracles may happen. I guess if you are really looking for a miracle then the time, money, and pain are worth it.
