Axioms - Wynn Prusaczyk
I really like the idea that sacred places are not chosen, they choose. It makes the place come alive in a sense, giving it its own personality almost like it has feelings. When I was little I used to think every inanimate object had feelings. If something was on the floor in the middle of the room I would movie it until it touched something else because I thought it meant it would be lonely. Lane’s idea is that a place puts its imprint on you, I feel like this goes along with the idea that you are very small and insignificant in the larger spectrum of the world. As a single person you cannot choose a place to be sacred because the place itself has more significance than you, it is allowed to choose you. I always think it’s kind of cool to look at yourself in terms of being so small.
