Jacqueline Thornley: Topic Relating to Class

I think trees are the only living things that handle death the right way. No one has ever said that death is a pretty sight, yet fall comes around and all the leaves turn the prettiest colors and people go bonkers. Sure they’re about to die but at least they go out with a bang! They also go out making everyone around them incredibly happy and comforted. I’d like to die like a tree I think. It’s a morbid thing to think about, sure, but I definitely want to make people happy at the end, not miserable and mopey. Now I know trees are completely different from people, I mean we have the ability to feel emotions and form relationships with people, but perhaps we could all learn a thing or two from the trees. For me, one thing’s certain. Next year I’ll be sure to tell the tree’s that I’m sorry for their loss. It’s only polite.
