The Screwtape Letters outside reading- Evan Shively

In the book "The Screwtape Letters", C.S Lewis write about how humans enjoy both change and permanence. It made me think of the campus nature walk with the guest professor who I cannot recall the name of. At the fountain he described how due to the both chaotic and ordered nature of our brain waves we enjoy things that are both chaotic and ordered. It is why we enjoy looking at a fireplace or water falling down a fountain. C.S Lewis uses the seasons to demonstrate this idea. He states how the seasons change, but how they are the same each year. Spring is different from winter, yet every year there is both a spring and a winter. The seasons are both ordered and chaotic.
