Spenser Burcak- First Day Poem (11/29/10)

My name is Spenser and I am in this class

I picked this ULLC because it just fit

To me, wilderness is being out in the grass

I like to be outside quite a bit

I hope this class is a blast

When I look back on this pathetic poem, I can only think about the uncertainty I had about his class from the first day. To be honest, I am not the best writer. So, when the professor comes in the first day and tells you to write a poem in about five minutes and present it to the class, I was a little scared. That was the first day however, I am glad that I decided to stay in this class. I did pick this class because it was one of the only ones that fit into my schedule, plus I heard that the professor was the man. I do love the outdoors and this class makes me want to be outside. I have enjoyed everything that we have done in this class, especially when we went walking on the Noland Trail. This class has allowed me to learn different things about sacred places and even how to describe them in different approaches. I would have never looked at nature in this way, if I did not pick this class.
